Tooth Extraction

After the baby teeth fall out, people use their permanent teeth throughout their lives. However, for various reasons, teeth may need to be treated and extracted. We provide tooth extraction services in our dental office. Tooth extraction procedures are one of the outpatient treatments and are performed with local anesthesia.

Why is Tooth Extraction Necessary?
In our dental office, where tooth extraction procedures are performed in a safe and hygienic environment, we first try to treat the teeth of our patients who experience dental problems. In cases where treatment is not a viable solution, we perform extraction procedures. When is tooth extraction done?

  • If the decayed teeth cannot be treated
  • If gum disease has caused bone loss
  • If there are baby teeth that have not fallen out in time
  • If there are wisdom teeth causing pain

In cases like these, we always try to save the teeth of our patients first. When treatment is not likely to be successful, we proceed with the extraction process.

What We Recommend After Tooth Extraction
After all tooth extraction procedures applied in our dental office, we inform our patients about what they should pay attention to during a certain period. In rare cases of pain after extraction, pain relievers may be necessary. In surgical procedures, pain may persist for a few days. To stop bleeding after extraction, a gauze pad should be applied for 30 minutes.

Are There Risks in Tooth Extraction?
After tooth extraction, some of our patients may be at risk of infection. The risk is higher in patients with a weakened immune system. Dry socket may occur after tooth extraction, which can cause bad breath. To prevent these risks, our doctors in our dental office regularly perform dressing changes to ensure rapid healing of the wound site.

How is Tooth Extraction Done?
In our dental office, tooth extraction procedures are performed by our dentists. The area of the patient experiencing pain is numbed with local anesthesia, and the problem causing the pain is identified. If there is no gum infection and the tooth needs to be extracted, the extraction procedure is performed. Tooth extraction procedures may require different techniques depending on the structure of the tooth to be extracted.

Post-Extraction Condition
After the tooth extraction procedure is completed, we send the patient home. We prescribe pain relievers for any pain that may occur after extraction. The patient will feel discomfort in the area where the tooth was extracted for a few days, but this discomfort will subside as there will be no more pain.
